- Interpretation of Modern Art
Touch of Kandinsky is a large interactive carpet with the motif of Wassily Kandinsky’s painting ”Group” from 1937. The carpet is designed to introduce young visitors to abstract art and is inspired by the artists’ writings on the concept of synaesthesia.
The figures in the motif are each sensitive to pressure and activates various sounds when the users touches or walks over the carpet. Depending on the amount and duration of pressure, the sound twirls and changes subtly. The sounds are specifically composed for the exhibit and are inspired by Kandinsky’s work and writings.
